We are thrilled to share the success of our recent 3-day training from 22nd to 25 th August 2024 at AMBA Estate in Bandarawela, attended by several of our dedicated workers and two partners of SereneTea Gardens. The training provided a comprehensive introduction to the principles of handmade teas, including their rich history, key success factors, and the benefits of a traceability system. Emphasis was placed on batch control and record-keeping—vital for a sustainable and efficient manufacturing process.
Participants gained hands-on experience in the entire production cycle of quality black tea, from fine leaf plucking and withering to hand rolling and drying, concluding with an insightful tea tasting session to evaluate quality levels. The program also covered essential topics such as tea field maintenance, market trends, and the art of tea tasting and marketing.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Neethanjana Senadheera and his team for their outstanding efforts in delivering this valuable training. A special thanks goes to Mr. Simon Bell for facilitating this opportunity and for his unwavering support in fostering artisanal tea practices. This experience will undoubtedly help elevate SereneTea Gardens' production to new heights.
